Monitoring body to be set up under NITI Aayog

A Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office will soon be set up under the government’s premier think tank NITI Aayog to keep a check on the Centre’s flagship programmes.
The new body will perform much the same role as the Independent Evaluation Office (IEO), set up by the previous government under the erstwhile Planning Commission, which was scrapped by the Narendra Modi government last year. HRD plans to come up with new education policy by December

The Human Resource Development Minist er Smriti Irani after meeting the Central Advisory Committee on Wednesday announced that the ministry will be out with its first draft report on the New Education Policy (NEP) by December this year.
For the minister to bring out its first draft, it will require suggestions from stake holders. However two months, since the consultation process has began.
