CBSE mulls reforms in exam system

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is mulling reforms in its examination system.
Sources in the board said in order to initiate changes in the examination pattern, the board would hold National Conference on Examination Reforms for Inclusive Education on August 23 and 24 in Delhi, where school principals, practitioners and experts have been invited to put forward their opinions.

Proposal to train 10 lakh youth in engg skills by 2019

Government proposes to use infrastructure of 10,000 colleges after college hours to train 10 lakh youth in engineering skills by March 2019, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar told Rajya Sabha today.He said a scheme has been formulated under the umbrella of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY) to use the infrastructure in engineering colleges for skilling unemployed youth after college hours.

Government committed to complete rural road projects by 2019

The scheme was envisaged during the previous NDA government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee but the progress slowed down as the UPA government reduced its funding. Government is committed to complete road projects identified under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) by 2019, Rajya Sabha was informed on Monday.
